1953_ Ariel KH & KHA (500cc Twin)
The Ariel 500 Twin is an interesting Val Page design. The pushrods are located in each corner of the cylinder in order that cooling air could pass between each cylinder unhindered and also because of that the inlet tract could be at a smoother more acute angle for more efficient gas flow into the combustion chamber. The connecting rods have their nuts facing upwards so that the big ends could be inspected without removing the engine from the frame and a major stripdown.

I love these old ads !

I have a 1939 Brown Brothers Catalogue and am in the process of scanning the motorcycle section which has ads for old accessories, parts & gear from that era. it would be perfect to share these on this website – please advise how I can contact webmaster to submit these, and in what format the catalogue would be of most use – raw JPG pictures or in a word DOC. unfortunately I don’t have software to make a PDF which would probably have been the best.

    Cheers Rodger

Hi Rodger, Sorry for the delay in replying to your post on my blog oldthumpers.wordpress.com as I have not been keeping very well and consequently been neglecting updates. Thank you for your offer of scans to post on here, I would appreciate them in JPG format after which I will convert them to pdf to post on here.
      Cheers,

      Hank

        Hi Hank

In the meantime I posted the scans on my Flickr account RJS1952.

I can send you the scans, but a link on your site to the appropriate Flickr page might work.

Then go to Brown Bros album.

        See what you think !

        Cheers Rodger
